About
A Pennsylvania native, Susanna Yatsko is driven by her experiences in higher education and music, and believes every student's path to graduate study is different.
Yatsko studied applied piano and earned a Bachelor of Arts in music from John Brown University (JBU) in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where she developed an interest in student affairs and arts administration while working for the university as a student. As a junior, she received the Oisen Award, JBU's music division's highest honor for dedication and service to the department. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in arts administration from Florida State University College of Music, where her work with the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver further sparked her interest in arts admission work.
After completing her graduate studies, Yatsko worked as an admission counselor at the University of Arkansas for two years before joining the recruitment staff of SMU's Meadows School of the Arts in 2017, where she spent nine years working with both undergraduate and graduate students.
Yatsko now serves as the inaugural Director of Graduate Admission for the Simmons School of Education and Human Development, where she looks forward to helping students across a wide range of fields find their own path forward.
In her spare time, Yatsko and her husband enjoy exploring Dallas' foodie scene and are already planning their next trip to one of America's national parks.
